With the new design, users now get a simple interface with rounded corners that looks similar to their phone device’s look. The latest update also introduces a few changes to make your user experience easier like better organization of inbox, improved search capabilities and more tools for productivity.
So how does this new Gmail feature work? It is a part of Microsoft’s effort to build a truly personalized email experience by letting each account owner have a specific set of emails. And this can be customized based on what they want and so the people using these accounts can use them on any platform. As we mentioned before, Google has been known to push new features in its Gmail, and this time around, it is not about improving the interface. Instead, everything looks very different and everyone will find something unique for every aspect of their life. According to GCP team, “While we’ve created an entirely reimagined, modernized and streamlined design for our Gmail app, our next steps in-house are all about personalization and delivering exactly what you need to maximize your inbox. We’re continually listening to feedback from our 2 million plus Gmail subscribers across North America and Europe, to understand what works best for them. These new updates help us deliver exactly that across all our service offerings, whether you’re searching for items on Google Search or accessing content and messages that appear right beside your primary account.”

The thing is, people have been looking for many things when selecting the top apps. A lot of people select just because that’s what is the most suitable and the simplest way but this time around they don’t need so much. They can customize their preferences if they want and it’s good to see so well-designed interfaces, with a minimalistic approach. But there is still some things which are missing from other applications. For instance it would be great to let users manage more than one account, send an HTML file as an attachment in case of photos, links and so on. This change only applies to the company website though and this means that only Google products are available for the first 60 million users, at least for now. Maybe the coming months are a good time for making the change. I think this is important and I hope soon it will become a natural experience for everyone. As we all know that’s what Google wants. How long it takes is up to you to decide whether or not you want it. Sooner or later, we will find out.
Gmail has always been one of my favorite platforms, especially after the launch of Android and I hope this particular change will change that environment. Hopefully Google will push through and this will become another interesting product in 2021. If it’s still a bit too old for you and your taste of simplicity then there are tons of alternatives, including Apple Mail and others.
